outfit of the day(bird): back to reality

shirt~ TJ Maxx
jeans~ Levis
shoes~ H&M
necklace~ gift from my in-laws

Hello! I hope you all had a good weekend. My sister, her husband, and their daughter were here, visiting from Vegas. It was such a fun weekend and I have gone into a tiny bit of a depression since they left. I just love having family around. Lots of snuggles with my niece, laughs with my sister and brother-in-law, and seeing my kids and their sweet cousin playing together was just what I needed this weekend. After having Jim out of town for so long and then my sister and her family visiting, it is going to be tough to get back to reality. But it'll also be good. I find lots of comfort in routine, but it's definitely good to shake it up every once in a while. Especially when it involves family and fun.

Oh, and sorry about the washed out photos. Apparently, 7:30 on a super sunny morning is not the best time to take outfit pictures. Oops! This blog is aways teaching me something.

xoxo, nora bird

  1. Sorry you feel a bit blue. I remember my sister and boyfriend going home when I was in Bali and missing them like crazy.
You look lovely. You can adjust the exposure in Picmonkey if the photos are washed out. X

  4. I'm glad you got to have some time with your family, I know how much you love being with them! I know it's hard to get back to reality though. I leave on vacation next week and I'm sure when I get back I'll be a bit down too. I love your top!

  5. Happy to hear you got to spend some time with your family. It is always hard to come back to the real world after weekends like that. I love those sandals! The pop of pink is so fun!

  6. I think the photos look lovely. My brother has been living with us for the past year and he is moving to the Virgin Islands on Monday. Although he is a pain in the butt (he is a little brother after all), I am pretty sad to see him go. So I get it. But it just makes the visits that much more special right?

  8. I actually love the photos--you look really bright and glowy! I'm in love with that tank top and those sandals...and together they're fabulous! Glad you enjoyed your family's visit! I am definitely a routine-oriented person, but sometimes it's hard to get back into the routine when you get a nice break. I'm with you on that today too.

  9. I adore these pics--those lovely dark pink pieces are fab, Nora. Our youngest son, daughter-in-law and grandson are only about an hour and a half away. Unfortunately, our youngest son is in Boston (way too far from Ohio). I'm always a bit depressed when he leaves here from a visit or when we leave him from a visit out his way. :( T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  12. I like the pictures! I also love routine but would take having family visit over that routine any day. Pretty pink. That color suits you!

  15. Oh, trial and error where the camera is concerned is always a fun thing to figure out. trust me.
hey, when I lived in Seattle area when my babies were teeny I hated to have relatives leave. made me cry a bunch each time. The adjustment to being so far away is rough but so glad your sister in just in Las Vegas from you!
I love seeing you again and saying so. {was stalking there for a while} lol
