outfit of the day(bird): lady date

sweater~ TJ Maxx
jeans~ Levis
hat, necklace~ H&M
shoes~ old, ???

On Sunday, I had a really fun late afternoon/evening out with my mom and three of my sisters (the fourth lives in Vegas and was unable to join us, for obvious reasons. She really should invest in a private jet for such occasions!) We went to an early showing of Gone Girl, which was okay. The acting was great, especially the performances of Ben Affleck and Tyler Perry, and it was very true to the book, but none of us loved the movie. It was very very long. Perhaps too long? And it's definitely not a feel good movie. So it was basically three hours of feeling anxious and uneasy, even though we all read the book and knew what was going to happen. Anyway, it's worth seeing. Especially a matinee and especially when your mom pays for your ticket. Thanks, Mom! After the movie, we headed to a nearby restaurant for yummy food (I had a fried pickle sandwich. Yep, you read that right!), great conversation, and a ton of laughs. All in all, it was a really fun time. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family that I truly enjoy hanging out with. I wish we could have lady dates more often!

Have you seen Gone Girl? What did you think?
xoxo, nora bird

  1. White with tan neutrals is one of my favorite combinations! A fried pickle sandwich sounds like heaven. I'm hoping to see Gone Girl this Friday.

  4. Tan and white - perfect! I am hesitant to see the movie in theaters. I hate long movies. I read the book. Maybe that's enough.

  5. I haven't seen the movie because I really loved the book and didn't want to destroy the memory.

What on earth was a fried pickle sandwich like? Crunchy, salty, and sour? I hope they put something sweet in to balance the flavours.

  8. I haven't seen it yet - I loved the book, and I'm often disappointed with movie versions of favorite books. Maybe I'll save it for a rental. :) Love your fun necklace, and the shoes of course.

  22. Can't tolerate tension in books or movies so I will just let that go and feel fine. lol Yes to the fried pickle sandwich Oh YES! This ensemble is wonderful, very you and very inspirational to me. You have pink hair. When did you do the pink hair? or is it the kind you rub in like a palm aid? Glad most of all that you went to the movie as a family and that your Mom treated! Super!
