outfit of the day(bird): is mama crying yet?

 dress ~ thrifted
shoes ~ ShoeDazzle
purse ~ MN Blogger Sale
earrings ~ Kohls
anklet ~ DIY

I've always been a very emotional person...extra emotional some might say. My kids always check on me during movies, asking, "Is mama crying yet?" (the answer is yes) and I find myself crying at most TV shows, and even some commercials. And don't even get me started on weddings...
This fact about myself is not embarrassing...to me at least. I embrace my inner crybaby and wear this trait like a badge of honor. I feel, therefore I am...or something like that.
However, I have noticed lately, that with age, and with changing hormones, it is getting worse. I hit an all-time low the other night ~ I couldn't sleep, and the kids had DVRed the new show, Girl Meets World. So at 2 am, I found myself watching it...and crying. And not just crying, sobbing. Loud, snorty sobs. For all three episodes that I watched. (And yes, I'm not embarrassed about the crying, but I am embarrassed that I marathon watched Girl Meets World at 2 am.)

Are you a big baby, or is it just me?
xo,
megan bird

  1. It's a trait that runs in our family; my mother did it, I do it, and the kidling does it too... maybe we're related? LOL
Although I must say, my legs never looked that good!

  3. I am exactly the same my Hubby just knows when I start crying and he looks at me and smiles, he never says anything he just smiles. When we renewed our vows in his speech he rattled off a list of why he loves me and one of the things he loves is my tears watching the most random stuff on television and guess what I did when he said that, yes I cried.

  6. Very cute outfit. I love the pink wedges. I'm a crybaby inside but, looking male on the outside, I had to learn to restrain that. Society's message to me growing up was Men Don't Cry.

  7. I'm the same; I get teary watching commercials, little kids run and elderly people holding hands. It doesn't take much to get me started. I'm glad to hear you wear your sensitivity like a badge, it's a good thing. Now where did I put my kleenex...

  8. My kids love that show. I have to admit that it's very well written and they definitely tug at your heartstrings. Have you seen The Odd Life of Timothy Green? I saw that in the theater with the kids and I cried. They were so embarrassed. And, you look pretty super in that hot outfit!

  11. I think that is super cute and as an avid Boy Meets World lover (back in the day!), I support the marathon. I am not a crier. I hardly ever cry. It takes a lot. Except for this last pregnancy for some reason--everything made me cry. I had never felt anything like it. It really is a good release though!

Your shimmery dress is so pretty with these hot pink shoes!

  12. I started crying while listening to Don't Stop Believing the other day. I was trying to sing along in the car, as usual, but I got all choked up on the words and had to look out the window so Bart wouldn't see that I was crying over a Journey song. Not that he would think there is anything wrong with that...

  13. My sister and I used to always make fun of our mom because she would cry all the time because of birthday cards, concerts etc. But now, I'm totally becoming her and I feel the urge to cry all the time!
