outfit of the day(bird): dog days of summer

 dress/cover-up ~ TJ Maxx
shoes,tank/bra ~ Target
This weekend is our kids' last weekend of summer, so we promised them a weekend full of fun. We asked them, "If you could plan the perfect day, what would you do?" in hopes of getting some clues as to what we should plan. Henry said Skyzone (easy enough), and Eva, without hesitation, said, "Skyzone, zip lining, and then go to China!"
We're still not sure exactly what we're going to do, but it will most likely involve zip lining, paddle boarding, and maybe even Skyzone if it's not too busy. China, however, may not be on the books. We need them to be fairly rested on Monday!
Any suggestions?

  1. Maybe some Chinese food instead of going to China? You, btw, are looking cool as a cucumber!

  3. I love how you are so diplomatic with each of you in your family, Megan. China - someday, I'm sure. If she has it on her agenda now, she'll probably get there eventually - like when she is 19 or 21 or so.

Thanks for your welcoming words to my "photo shoot" again. ...FINALLY, I have a face that can be seen online. Some of my faces were really BAD. { i even have this one where I look just like Shrek, I am not kidding } ♥ ♥

  6. My kids started school today. I asked them what they wanted to do yesterday and they decided bowling and then changed their minds at the last minute. We ended up going to Michael's and getting some craft supplies. Not too exciting, but it we had fun creating.

  7. This is such a cute summer outfit! I love those shoes :)

So there is this one episode of Gilmore Girls, where Rory had planned on going on a trip to Asia with her BF and in the end, it was cancelled. Lorelei decided to make it up to her, so she decked out the house in Asian themed things (lots of Hello Kitty stuff, as well), they got lots of take-out from different places, and even rented a bunch of Asian movies.

  8. such a great outfit! hope you have a wonderful outing with your children! i once came across a book called how to raise a global child. i think it showed ways to show children cultures from another world to have a more global perspective. i think having chinese food would be great but then also couple it with picture books of china so that you all can take a "vacation" together through pictures and writings!

  14. Gorgeous look on you, so effortless. I want China too but that needs lots of planning. When in our last week before school, my son picked the beach so he can boogie board.

  15. Love the layers..so pretty and a bit wild. The leo shoes are perfect too. Now to that dilemna, I say order in Chinese and watch some netflix? Plan a trip to NY's Chinatown for good behavior? My two cents.
