outfit of the day(bird): other people's laundry

tank~ Ross
pants~ b. (a resale shop)
shoes~ Marshalls
necklace~ gift from MIL
sunglasses~ some store in Seattle

The other night, after the kids went to bed, I decided to do some laundry while catching up on some of the shows on my DVR. I threw the last load into the dryer and then forgot about it until I was about to go upstairs to bed. I quickly grabbed the clean laundry, threw it into a basket, and, because I was too tired lazy to fold it, set the basket on my dining room table to be dealt with in the morning. That morning, I had a doctor's appointment and was rushing around trying to get ready to leave while also getting the kids their breakfast and doing other morning-y things. As I was flossing, I glanced into the living room and saw Jim folding the laundry. "Oh, you don't have to do that! I left it there to get extra wrinkled. I can fold it." I called to him. "Oh, it's no big deal," he said, "But you'll probably have to fold most of it again. At least your stuff." "Um, okay. Why is that?" I asked. "Well, your stuff is really hard to fold. It's just so different than my stuff. The seams are all weird and it's just so much smaller." This made me laugh because it was so ridiculous. He couldn't be serious, right? But sure enough, when I looked later, my clothes were all folded very strangely. I, however, did not re-fold them. And, as I am typing this, they are still sitting in the laundry basket. Maybe I'll get around to putting everything away today, but I wouldn't count on it. (Also, I should probably get Jim one of these, am I right?)

  4. Your hair!!! LOVE!!!! I think men pretend that they don't know how to do basic household tasks so that we don't ever ask them to help. My husband has actually admitted this to me.

  7. So when I first started doing my husband's laundry (in fairness we split the folding these days!) he insisted on showing me how he liked his t-shirts folded. It was so funny, because he isn't OCD about other things, but his t-shirts have to be folded a very specific way!

Love your top in these photos!

  8. OMG! THE HAIR!!! Yes I'm freaking out! LOL FABULOUS!!! Wow. You need to be in a hair commercial. You always have the best hair style. You must have an excellent stylist.

My husband and I are both picky about how we fold items, but he often helps me fold, and I taught him everything he knows ; )

You look like you walked right out of the pages of a magazine here. Brilliant style and look.

  10. Love this..sounds like my house. I fold mine and my husband's laundry and the kids fold their own. I never fold hubby's undershirts like the Gap, so he always refolds what I fold!!

I love you look here and your hair is growing out so nicely. Change is great, yes? Check my new style out when you get a chance please. Happy 4th!!

  11. Adorable, fashionable outfit. I'm envious. And, as one who folds both male and female clothes, there is a difference. The first time I handled a dress, I wondered what those two plastic loops in the armholes were for.

  12. Ha - I don't like when Ed folds my laundry. He does the shirts differently than I do and then the stacks look funny. :) Though I appreciate the effort.

By the way - your hair! Love.

  14. Haha, my husband does the same thing. He doesn't understand how my clothes work, so he just folds his own on the rare occasions when he helps with laundry (he does dishes most of the time - no complaints here).

    Super cool hair, too!

  15. That is so very sweet of him! I would leave them folded as is--both for laziness and just to remember the sweetness! YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks AMAZING! And I love the outfit! What a win win win post!

  16. Nobody will notice your weirdly wrinkled clothing because your hair is so incredibly cute! Yeah, those folder things are great but you just KNOW he would never use it. A man that folds laundry! Keep him around.

  19. LOL, at least he tried to help out! Nate just throws the clean clothes in a basket and leaves it for me. He'll start loads of laundry, but folding is just not his thing!

  23. Love your hair and those awesome pants. They look so comfy but also so cute! It's nice that he folded your laundry; Aaron doesn't fold mine often but when he does he also comes up with some interesting folds.

  25. ha ha to be fair women's clothing is way more complicated than men's we have a lot more different things, where as they basically have t-shirts, dress shirts pants or shorts. no crop tops of off the shoulder anything thrown in, lol.

love the shape of thsoe pants, very eye-catching :)

  26. That's so funny! I hate folding laundry, so I dump it on my bed so that I MUST put it away. My Husband folds everything perfectly, having looked up the proper technique on youtube a few years ago. I gotta give him his props, but most of our clothes are the same size looking! You are quite small.
