outfit of the day(bird): is it bad? (the Law & Order edition)

whole outfit ~ thrifted
necklace ~ Minneapolis Blogger Sale
earrings ~ Forever 21

~ Is it bad that I DVRed seven episodes of Law & Order because I have been waking up at 3 am every
night, and they are the only thing that puts me back to sleep?
~ Is it bad that when I fall asleep to Law & Order, both Chris and I dream about crime and Jerry Orbach?
~ Is it bad that after four hours of inactivity (after I fall asleep), our Directv box turns off, but not our tv, so I oftentimes wake up to Poltergeist-like TVstatic?
Is it bad that I can't fall asleep without the TV on?
~ Is it bad that if I am awake, in bed, with no TV on, I make countless lists of what I need to do, need to buy, need to clean, etc.?
~ Is it bad that sometimes at 3 am, I am excited to watch Law & Order?
~ Is it bad that I have seen hundreds of beginnings of Law & Order, and almost no ends?
~ Is it bad that I dedicated almost a whole post to Law & Order?

  1. Is it bad that we haven't owned a television for 10 years? And is it bad that when the Great Scot's workmates ask what we do with our time he just grins and waggles his eyebrows?
Love this outfit, especially the shoes and necklace!

  3. Is it bad that I'd rather read blog posts than do housework?

We don't have a TV in our bedroom otherwise I think my husband would leave it on as well. I can't sleep unless there is absolute silence and darkness. Since my husband snores this requires earplugs every night.

FYI I've never watched Law and Order in my life but I am hooked on The Good Wife.

  4. It's not bad! hahah I love Law and Order! And it's much much better to see the beginnings and not the ends than the other way around. I don't know how many times I've flipped the channel to a Law and Order episode 5 minutes in and can't figure out what is going on.

  5. I think the next time I'm wide awake in the middle of the night thinking of my to-do lists, I'll have to turn on Law & Order. Then we can dream about Jerry together.

  6. LOL, it's not bad! I used to have to fall asleep to Friends, so I totally understand. We ended up getting rid of the TV in our bedroom, but now I'm hooked on Oliver's white noise machine, which I can still hear through the monitor even now he's in his own room. Can't sleep without it!

  9. We love watching Law & Order and those other similar shows. It is bad that when my husband is at worked and leave us at home at night, I am too paranoid that I will be killed like some of the victims.

  10. Oh my. I do hope you start to get some sleep!!!! I actually have never seen L&O and probably won't. I was actually planning to do a post on this but basically, being educated in law ruins a lot of your cinematic life. Mostly this is because you can constantly find fault in the process or rules of law or things. But I do enjoy the stand up act that John Mulaney does about L&O. He's hilarious!

  13. Haha!!! I don't know this programme well but I'm obsessed with House of Elliott reruns in YouTube at the moment and am really cross that CBC commandeered the computer upon which I was watching and now I have to use the horrid laptop! X

    P.s. is that a necklace?????? X

  14. I love your necklace! And those shoes are so neat! Is it bad I watched the entire first and second season of Orange is the New Black in one weekend? ;)

  15. Hahahaha <3 You're the best, man. Seriously. Yes, it's bad. It's so bad, that it's good. ;) Killer necklace by the way! It makes me want to get some vintage phone cords and do some interesting DIY with them. :D Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment for me, by the way! You guys are awesome!

  16. I love these posts! :) We got hooked on the show Orphan Black and watched two seasons worth of shows in the past few weeks and after watching one show right before bed one night with one of the very creepy characters I had the strangest dreams!! Still don't like the music they play when that character is up to no good...haha!

  18. Is it bad that I want more of these types of posts from you? You are so funny. About two years ago, I was on a Law and Order SVU binge. I DVRed every single episode and had my own marathon. That show is definitely melodramatic. pretty much unrealistic, and overall very disturbing but I love it. I was sad when I ran out of episodes. What does that say about me?? BTW, that necklace is right up my alley and you are rocking it!

  19. What a great outfit (love that it's thrifted!)! I adore Law & Order--and, sometimes wake up and can't go back to sleep, either. I need to start watching a few late night episodes. :) T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  20. This post cracked me up. I imagined the "buh buhm" sound from Law & Order after each of your points too, hehe :) I used to watch home shopping television to help me go to sleep. Here's mine: Is it bad that I'm sitting here reading blogs while my husband tapes up our house to prep it for painting? I feel like a terrible wife.

  21. I love this outfit - so simple, and stylish! The necklace/scarf is so cool. I've never seen anything quite like it before.

Oh, and I totally need the TV in order to fall asleep. It's a bad habit, but I don't care!

  23. OMG those shoes - in love. The pop of red with this simple outfit is great. At first that stunning necklace looked like a thin Summer scarf. =)

I am doing a link-up featuring Summer Trends every day this week and one of those trends is the Statement Necklace and Midi Skirts (like you ladies wore on Monday). I'd love for you to join my link up with this outfit. If you do, please include a link back to my blog. Thanks girl.

    Happy Hump Day!! Ada. =)

  25. Haha! No sleep brings out the crazys for me. I never have a problem sleeping but the couple times it's happened to me, I literally go insane.

Is it bad that I was laughing at your sleeping issues? :-) take care! xo tammy
