jeans~ Jessica Simpson
lately, i have felt a huge urge to simplify, organize, and de-clutter my home and my wardrobe. i have cleaned out my closets and gotten rid of tons of clothes. i have found myself buying more basics, solids, and classic pieces. this is very unusual for me. i am always drawn to the bold prints, bright colors, and anything sparkly, fringe-y, and flamboyant. but this move to a more simple, classic look has actually been fun and freeing. it is a fun challenge to take a plain white tee and build an outfit from there. i definitely do not want my wardrobe to be boring. i will not be giving up my sparkle and fringe entirely (there is definitely a time and a place for my hot pink, fringed, stiletto boots and i will never get rid of them) (in fact, i cannot promise i will get rid of any of my flashy shoes) (or stop buying them), but i will definitely be focusing more on a classic style rather than trying to keep up with all the trends. i will try and find those perfect statement pieces rather than buying a cheap version of every current, must-have item that pops up. my hope is that this will help my wardrobe feel less overwhelming, more organized, and better curated. i think it will also help me shop in a smarter, less impulsive, more conscious manner. so far, i am loving it!
what are your shopping tips, tricks, and wardrobe must-haves?
