new loves and old friends: my favorite lbd

old friends
dress~ vintage cynthia rowly, two birds
new loves
booties~ Target

i wish i had more opportunities to wear this dress because i totally adore it. i stole it from the two birds collection (yes, i stole it from myself! it's possible!) back when we were still doing sales. i just couldn't sell it to someone else. i had to have it as my own. and since then, i have worn it a total of two times. once to the wedding of my dear friend, jamie (see how i wore it then right here!) and last weekend i wore it to the wedding of another couple of awesome friends, cayla and amanda! and that's it. now i feel like the dress is all weddinged out (yes. weddinged out. i made up a word. deal with it.) and i don't get invited to many any other formal events. so, i am certain this dress will now sit in my closet, unworn, for quite a while. and i feel bad about that because it totally deserves to be worn. so, if anyone out there has a wedding or event coming up and they want an awesome lbd to wear, shoot me an email! you can totally borrow my dress! is that weird? because i am totally serious!

xoxo, nora bird

  2. Your hair and lippy look gorgeous.

What about dressing it down with some flats or flat boots and a card? Then you would get more wear out of it. Also coloured tights would be great with this.

I had a post recently where I took a fancy LBD like this and toned it down for day wear...here

  4. Try it with knee-high brown leather boots, textured tights, and a denim or fur vest to transition it for fall and to dress it down. The fur would be more for winter but a good dose of denim plays down the dressy feel of anything.

  6. I love everything about this outfit!!! I recently bought my first tube of red lipstick but so far I have only worn it in my house because I'm a chicken. Perhaps you have inspired me to try and wear it outdoors. Maybe to the grocery store this weekend! haha

  15. I have soooooo many dresses to which this logic applies and I personally think it is totally acceptable to hold on to it. I don't have many (er, any) formal events to go to ever, but if I do, I'm ready! I love this dress on you and the booties are the best!
