bird seed: chocolate mousse brownies

i am pretty much a total chocoholic. i don't really consider something dessert unless it has chocolate in it. sure, i can appreciate an apple crisp or some lemon bars or a peach pie. and i will definitely be happy eating any kind of dessert. but what i really want is chocolate. if you are like me in this regard, you really need to try this recipe. it is the perfect dessert for summer because it only requires minimal baking. and the end result is cool, rich, and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! mimi helped me make these brownies and we had so much fun!

here's what you will need:
8 squares Baker's semi sweet chocolate, divided
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk, divided
4 eggs
3.9 oz package instant chocolate pudding mix (dry)
1 1/2 cups Cool Whip, thawed

for the brownies:
beat the sugar, flour, 1/4 cup of condensed milk, and 4 eggs together. then add 6 squared of the bakers chocolate (melted).

sometimes little brothers want to help...

once you add the chocolate, be sure to lick the spoon!
delicious!

pour brownie mix into a greased 9x9 pan (i only had an 8x8, and it worked), and bake at 325 for 25 minutes. then let it cool completely.

in a separate bowl, mix the rest of the sweetened condensed milk with the pudding mix until it is smooth. then slowly add the cool whip and stir. spread this mixture over the cooled brownies. then, melt two or three more baker's chocolate squares, and drizzle over the brownies.

refrigerate until you're ready to serve. then, test them out on your friends and family! they won't be disappointed!

don't they look super thrilled to be photographed?

is that a thumbs up? i'll take it!

these were a hit and i will for sure make them again!

xoxo, nora bird

  2. Oh man, you are speaking my language - I cannot get enough chocolate right now! This sounds like a nice lighter version of brownies since it is like mousse! I must try it!

  5. Oh you'll have to let me know if you get those heels at H&M. At our store there were very few left at that price. I was lucky to find my size 7. There was another pair but they had some of the suede cut into it, weird. They were regularly $25 and on clearance at $15.

Have a super weekend too ya know!
