outfit of the day(bird): abrakadabra, sleep shopping!

shirt ~ ebay
jeans ~ Marshalls
earrings ~ hand-me-down
shoes ~ thrifted

if you know me at all, you know that i love to shop. i love to thrift, i love a good deal, and i love the thrill of the hunt. however, i also feel guilty if i spend too much money. i can often rationalize my purchases with some very good reasoning, but i think i found the ultimate purchase rationalization...

i was sleeping!

yep, you read that right. i sleep-shopped. you see, i had seen this shirt online earlier in the day and really liked it. and then i went to bed. when i woke up, i had an email not only from ebay, saying i had purchased the shirt, but also one from paypal saying i had paid for it.

so now i have a new shirt (which i paid very little for, by the way), and i don't even feel guilty about spending money on it, because i didn't know i was doing it.

is that a valid defense???
(even if it's not, i still love my shirt.)

xo,
megan bird

  3. I can honestly say I have never sleep shopped. But maybe I would if I found cute tees like that whilst sleeping. :)

  6. This happens with me, but instead of shopping, I wake up with candy bar wrappers on my nightstand or cookie crumbs on my pillow or the peanut butter jar left on the counter with a spoon still in it. I think my ass would be smaller if I could sleep shop rather than sleep eat.

  8. Sleep shopping! That's a new one! Love it! It's a cute shirt though!

There's a Bill Engvall routine in which he talks about the dumb warnings on stuff (Here's Your Sign) and one of them is to not use your blow dryer while sleeping - he's like "darn it, I was sleep styling again!" that's totally what I just though of reading this post!

  14. Great shirt!

Ha! I'm surprised I haven't sleep shopped yet myself. And yes, that is a perfectly reasonable defense.

  17. I firmly think after reading this post that you are bonifide certifiable since your wedding is stressing you out! Please Megen - get married and get back to normal. hahahahahaha (you know I love you?)

Honestly, can't wait to hear all about your wedding and everything that went right and of course, wrong. It always does but that is part of the great memories you will hold forever!
