outfit of the day(bird): the terrible threes

shirt~ F21
tank, jeans~ thrifted
boots~ Shoedazzle

yesterday at lunch, mimi was messing around and not eating (as per usual, lately). i said to her, "mimi, please eat your avocado." and she looked me in the eye and said, "um, first of all, i don't even like avocado. and second of all, i do like them." what could i even say to that? then, during her "nap time", i heard a loud noise come from her room. i rushed in there to find the entire contents of her bookcase on the floor and she is back in bed, under the covers. and she said, "um, mama, there is a huge mess of books over there" and rolled over and closed her eyes. i decided to let her nap and deal with that one later. i have heard that age three is even worse than the terrible twos. and it has only been a month, but i am beginning to believe it. i definitely have my work cut out for me with that one! any advice is welcome...

also, if you have a three-year old, have had one, or have ever even known one, this is a pretty hilarious read.

xoxo, nora bird

  1. Call me insane but I loved the twos and threes...definitely a challenge but watching them become their own, little, separate person? Enchanting! (Especially since they're still young enough to want cuddles.)

    Good luck Momma!

  9. My middle one is almost 3 and has just started being, um, challenging. My oldest is so good-natured and even keeled that she didn't really prepare me for this.

  18. Oh that sounds rough! I thought my niece and nephew were hilarious at that age, but that's probably because as Aunt Jess I got to deal with the fun things about that age, and send them right back to their mothers for the bratty moments! :)

  19. I do not have any children but I am the oldest sibling of four so I remember plenty of terrible two and threes! I love this look especially the booties, I have a similar pair and I love them.
