outfit of the day(bird): being a kid isn't easy

dress~ thrifted
boots~ Heartbreaker
bracelet~ H&M

yesterday, the kids and i got home from the gym and mimi climbed up onto the couch, let out a big sigh, and said, "mama, can you please turn on sesame street? i just need to sit here, have a snack, and relax." my first reaction was to giggle and think, oh yeah, it is just so tough to be (almost) three. but i gave in and turned on her show. i figure if she is actually telling me that she needs a little down time, it's probably true. just so long as she doesn't try that line on me every day!

on another, totally separate, note, i am trying out megan's "you go girl day" idea. i have had this dress in my closet for a while now and have yet to wear it until now. it is much tighter than anything i normally wear. and that, plus horizontal stripes, are enough to scare someone who still has a bit of baby belly left to lose into not wearing their cute, new-to-them dress. but what the hell. i'm going to wear it and embrace my shape. i might not have a flat belly (ever again!), but i'll take my kids over a hot bod any day!

i hope you all have an awesome day!

xoxo, nora bird

  3. You GO girl! You look absolutely fabulous, and I love how you paired it with those ankle boots. At the risk of sounding like a total creeper...you & Megan were in my dream last night. I have no idea why or what we were doing...but just that you were...so strange! Maybe I need some sesame street/downtime from blogging? :)

That is so funny that Mimi said she needed to relax. TV does relax me too so I can't blame her! :)

  9. I love the dress! And sometimes it's nice to show off your bod, even if it is a little more uncomfortable at first, I feel like by the end of the day you are feeling more confident! And I hope you were because you look fantastic!

  11. This dress looks amazing on you! You look great and I love the booties. When you put those cute little headbands in your hair like this it makes me so jealous--when I try they never look that cute! I also think it's good for kids to have some wind-down time when they need it. It means wind-down time for mom too and that's never a bad thing!

  16. Well Nora if it is any consolation, I still have a baby belly and my baby will be 31 in 26 days. hahahaha. I have been watching THE VOICE and last night a gal from Brooklyn preformed (beautifully I might add, but that is beside the point). She had has two kids & her baby is 7 months old and this gal had an amazing figure. Oh yes, I was jealous of her ALL OVER THE PLACE.
