outfit of the day(bird): put a bird on it

dress~ c/o eShakti
socks~ F21
shoes~ b. (a resale shop)
necklace~ gift from megan

this is one of those dresses in which you can't help but twirl while wearing. it has a nice, full skirt, perfect for twirling. but what i learned is that you should only twirl around in it while in the privacy of your own home. not right outside of your house, on a windy day, while your husband is snapping photos of you and your neighbor is slowly driving past and staring out their car window in confusion. it is possible that said neighbor may see a little more than they bargained for. and that could be extremely embarrassing for everybody involved. and then you might have to scramble up the stairs back into your house and slam the door while bursting into a fit of humiliated laughter. and you may possibly have to avoid eye contact with that neighbor for the next few weeks. i'm just saying, it could make for quite the mortifying experience.

i hope you're all having a great week so far!

xoxo, nora bird

p.s. eShakti would like to offer you 20% off your order if you use the coupon code TWBRDSBTQE. this offer is good through march 20, 2013. be sure to check out all the cute new dresses in their spring collection! (but be cautious when twirling.)

  10. I am a big eShakti fan. I have several of their pieces and they don't disappoint. The bird print on this one is too cute. I love the socks too. Don't worry too much about the neighbor. If these photos are any testament, I'm sure he was checkin you out, not thinking you were a weirdo. LOL

  20. hahahaha Nora! What a fun post. I love your dress. It is modern and vintage all at the same time. My Mom had a dress like that when I was young (1950's) that was white with brown and green varied sized polka dots and the seam (where yours is white) were brown. I lovedlovedloved that dress. She wore it to do housework. My Mom wore a dress to do house work until the mid 60's. Awh, thanks for the memory. Today is her birthday! She would have been 97, if still alive. Oh but she still lives on, that's for dang sure.
