outfit of the day(bird): sugar and spice and everything nice

dress ~ from nora
sweater ~ Target
boots ~ Nordstrom Rack
scarf ~ garage sale
belt ~ thrifted
earrings ~ Dots

we had a birthday party for eva on sunday and it was crazy. it was on sunday that it hit me that mental exhaustion far outweighs any kind of physical exhaustion. it was on sunday that it hit me that six-year old girls like to talk a lot. a.lot. it was on sunday that it hit me that six-year old girls act like 13-year old girls (already). and it was on sunday that it hit me my house will never truly be rid of glitter.

the day was filled with screams (of joy), everyone talking at once, lots of giggles, a tea party in which they decorated cookies (with three whole containers of sprinkles...half of which ended up on the floor), many princess dresses, chris getting the best princess makeover (dad of the year right there), lots of hugs, five cards that said, "i love you, eva", and did i mention everyone talking at once?

it was great, and exhausting. and i'm sure i will be cleaning up glitter until next year...and then next year it will happen again. i bet seven-year old girls talk a lot, too.

it was worth it, though, to see the smile on eva's face as every friend showed up to wish her a happy birthday. plus, a little glitter on the floor never hurt anyone.

megan bird

  1. Glitter on the floor puts glitter in your smile!

This is such a sweet post and I'd vote for Chris for dad of the year...especially if we get to see photos of the princess makeover, hehehe.

You look scrumptious in your cheery outfit. And cold. Very very cold!
