outfit of the day(bird): wrinkly shirts and tough weeks

cardigan~ H&M
shirt~ swapped
jeans~ F21
boots~ Heartbreaker

a few things about these photos...first of all, my shirt is super wrinkly. wow. i didn't notice it until i was adding these photos to this post. slightly embarrassing that i am even posting them. even more embarrassing? i wore this in public. secondly, i wore this outfit on tuesday which, as i am sure you know, was election day. this is why i am wearing an "i voted" sticker. i don't just wear those around every day. third, my hair is becoming a bit of a mess. perhaps because i rarely take the time to actually style it (or even wash it, for that matter) and make it cute. but it is growing out and in need of a trim and i think i am ready for a change (already). i have booked a haircut appointment for next week and am thinking of doing a short bob. or maybe i will just go crazy and pixie it out again. or maybe i will have another crazy idea by the time my appointment date rolls around. thoughts? suggestions? i would love your input!

that's about all i've got for today. i have had a very busy and somewhat tough week. hopefully, i can recharge this weekend. any good vibes you want to send my way would be much appreciated. happy friday, all! have a fabulous weekend!

xoxo, nora bird

  1. I may be crazy (jury's out on that), but I totally like this look. Love the leopard cardigan, and the boots, even the super (not-so) wrinkly shirt.

  3. I didn't even notice the wrinkles in the shirt. Good luck with the hair cut, I think no matter what you come up with it will end up looking cute.

Btw, thanks for the comments on my blog, for some reason your (or Megan's?) comments don't show up on the blog, but I do get the emails. Weird, but I want to acknowledge that I read them and appreciate them. Hope the weekend gives you a good recharge.

    1. Hey, same here! I'm getting the email notifications because y'all's comments are getting stuck in my spam, and I have to go and dig em out. {Which is fine.} But, Vang, maybe that's what's happening over at your place too?

  4. I don't think the shirt looks wrinkly! And I love the leopard print cardigan!

Sorry you had a tough week - I did too at times. Must be something in the water. Here's hoping we can both recharge the batteries a bit this weekend!

  6. I love the last photo because I can see your "Vote NO" yard sign and your "I VOTED" sticker - a winning combo! I waaaant your boots too! Have yourself a "Horizontal Sunday." I do these when I'm super wiped out. I tell Nate that my goal is to be horizontal for 90% of the day. Just couch it up, all day long (much easier for me to say, because I don't have kids!)

  8. Sorry to hear that you are having a tough week, Nora. Just call it a model off duty week. You look great in anything you wear, wrinkled or not. I love your boots and your skinny jeans. Just post all your boots and we'll be happy with that. have a great weekend, hopefully you can relax. dawn suitcase vignettes xo

  9. I don't think that the skirt looks too wrinkled. I think a bob would look cute on you. I love bob haircuts with wavy hair, but mu hair is too straight to pull off that kind of look.

  10. I think the hair looks gorgeous, messy and all. I'm so jealous you don't need to wash yours as often as I do (everyday! it gets so greasy!!) And who cares if you are a little wrinkly! You did your civic duty!

  11. I really like your heartbreaker boots, and I like your hair like this too. It looks very unique, even if that means "undone".

  13. I always notice the flaws in my outfits after I've taken the pictures. Which is usually after I've worn said outfit all day, flaws and all. But I wouldn't have noticed your wrinkles at all if you hadn't pointed them out!

I vote bob - I'd get one for myself if I was brave enough to go short!

  15. AW I love this shirt, if you didn't mention it being wrinkly I wouldn't even have noticed! Your hair is super cute, and I think you will look cute with whatever you decided to go with. I am NO expert in shorter hair cuts because my hair is super long. BUT I really like how you styled it here! :)

  17. Pixie it!!! I always wear creased outfits- my pussybow blouse looked all thin and awful when I looked at the pictures- usually it is luscious and thick! Yours is relatively uncreased by my standards!x

  21. I could see you with a bob for sure. Your have such lovely bone structure so you could totally pull it off flawlessly. Of course you would look cute in a pixie cut too. Looking forward to seeing what you decide on!

  22. Girl, please. My shirt in today's photos looks like I slept in it (I swear I didn't, not this time). Also, I love disheveled hair and your cut looks so good un-styled that I'm super jealous.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  25. Nora Nora Nora - here > TONS OF GREAT VIBES FOR YOU!!!!

I thought your post was honest and refreshing! Wrinkled shirt - sminkled shirt, you are so dang cute.

Hair suggestions: 1) short looks so great on you. Not everyone can pull off a short-do, but you DO! Is your hair naturally curly? I have natural curl in mine and I have to have it long enough for a flat iron or I go fricken insane.

You'll do great whatever you choose.

Mood: could be hormones. Ya just had a babe not too long ago.

Have a great relaxing weekend. Sleep in!!!

  29. Let's hear it for wrinkles!! This should be a trend. I actually think you look very cool. Personally, I'm a fan of the bob...tho you could totally rock a little pixie.

  31. Your hair is adorable right now - you are so lucky to be able to rock short hair! Maybe you just need to get it restyled slightly :) Good luck, I'm sure it will turn out fantastic.

  33. nora, however you do your hair it's gonna look great. i have no doubt. i like the shirt wrinkly. it looks like it's made to be that way. i also like how you paired it with that cute, little sweater. i really do want those heartbreaker boots.
