new loves and old friends: crazy old boot lady

old friends
shirt~ vintage, thrifted
new loves
boots~ Jessica Simpson
jeans~ thrifted

as i was digging through the piles and piles (no exaggeration) of boots on the floor of my extraordinarily messy shoe closet, in search of these particular boots, i happened across two very similarly styled pairs of brown vintage boots. the sad thing is not that i have three almost identical pairs of boots (although, that is pretty sad), but that i have absolutely no recollection of when or where i bought two of the pairs. absolutely no idea. it's like i went into some sort of boot-buying induced coma while i was making the purchases or something. pathetic. i have come to the realization that i have far too many pairs of boots (obviously). i was going to count how many i had but i was too embarrassed. i think it is enough that i am admitting here and now that i am a boot hoarder. i have a serious boot addiction. it's a problem. i imagine that one day, when i am old and grey(er), the neighborhood children will not walk, but run past my house as i sit on my boot covered porch trying on pair after pair murmuring to myself in wonder how i ended up with so many boots. and i will be known only as the crazy old boot lady.

happy friday!

xoxo, nora bird

  2. haha, I am the same way! Heels... whatever. Flats... take em or leave em. But BOOTS?! I have way too many pairs to admit. Kevin does not understand when each year I tell him I need to invest in new boots. He thinks they all look the same, but I have to explain that I need brown booties and brown tall, black booties and black tall, medium brown and black, heeled brown and black in both tall and booties... blows his mind.

I love this pair and your top is so bright and happy! :) Happy weekend, Birds!

  5. It's much, much better to hoard boots than, say, dead cats, or jars of pee. Perspective, my dear.

Your hair looks SO cute. I love the asymmetry!

  6. I'm so with you. LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE boots! I even buy old cowboy boots that don't fit so that I can decorate with them. :/

  9. You can never have too many boots, never!! I love these! And the shirt is super cute!!

I did laugh about the kids running away from crazy boot lady - it makes me think of Chandler on Friends when he talked about getting old and getting snakes "run away from crazy snake man!"

  16. What a great boho look Ms. Skinny Lady!

For me it's sweaters...around this time of year I begin eying the sweaters. More sweaters, must have more! I blame it on a fear of being cold. =D

  18. Hahaha, I don't do that toooooo often, but it happens sometimes! Usually it's when I buy something right at the end of the season and then I don't see it for 9mos and it's like a surprise present when I find it!

  22. Um . . . guilty! And not just in boots-shoes, hats, skirts, dresses . . .

But at least you always have something "new" to wear right? That's how I view it anyway.

Love your blouse AND your boots!

  23. Hahahaha! Oh man, I'm the same way. Every time I come back with some new pair of boots I've either found thrifted or on clearance my mom complains about how "But you already have one just like that!"
