outfit of the day(bird): what do you want to do with your life?

necklace* ~ sora designs

i'm sure you have all done some sort of team-building exercises either at work or school before. you know the ones, the ones where you fall into your coworker's arms with your eyes closed, or where you tell everyone your deepest aspirations and get motivated by each other's words. i know i have. and i quite enjoy things that like...i'm a bit of a sap after all.

my little sister told me of a meeting that she overheard at her work. it was such a meeting...everyone was going around in a circle saying something that they would like to do with their life. in her words, here is what she overheard...not even kidding.

woman 1: i'd like to sit down and be able to play the piano.
group: oh yeah nice.
woman 2: i'd like to have sex with a woman.
group: oh yeah I could see you doing that.
seriously...how odd is that? sure, if that's what you want to do, go for it, but is it really something you share with your coworkers in a team-building meeting? to each her own...some people are more free with their coworkers than i would be.

so, how about you. what is something that you have always wanted to do in your life?

me? i'd love to take our scamp cross country and camp in every state in america.

xo,
megan bird

*i loved this necklace on a love*birds post last week, and a few days ago it showed up on my doorstep with no explanation. i am utterly confused, but love the necklace!!

  3. That seems a little too personal to share in a work setting? Eek! I have never been off the continent and don't even have a passport, so that's my thing I want to do!

    Love the magically appearing necklace:)

  4. Um, that was shared in a work setting? Yeah, maybe that's a bit too far!

And how awesome that the necklace just showed up at your door!! Lucky you! Love the shirt too, especially the buttons in the back.

Hmm, I have always wanted to travel to somewhere on the West Coast. I've seen the East Coast and the Atlantic, but I want to see both oceans!

  5. Whaaaaat? Holy inappropriate!

I love that top with the buttons in the back!

I really want to open my own clothing store one day, even if it's just online.

  6. That top! It is amazing! Also, it is super cool that the necklace showed up for you! What do I want to do with my life? I'm not really sure, I am a total nerd so I want to go to grad school, but other than that...I want to visit a rainforest, and see more national parks, and hug a sloth, and be a mom...I have too many goals.

As for the coworker interaction, the fact that she shared is wildly inappropriate, but the fact that the group was like "oh yeah...I can imagine that" is pretty creepy.

  7. Wow. Just wow. I support all love, gay or straight and the ability to freely express your love. But . . . if you are not gay and you tell people at work that you would like to have a gay experience, or even a straight experience or even anything that has to do with sex . . . there's a time and a place people! What a weirdo! I love the buttons on the back of this blouse!

  8. OK, first off I love a blouse that buttons in the back. And your sister's coworker? Yikes! I consider myself pretty open-minded but I don't think that's appropriate for the workplace. Surely they have a different goal they could share with their coworkers. Geesh.

My goal is to finish my interior design degree and open a store of my own.

  9. Oh my goodness... I can't believe that was said in a group of coworkers. I'm sorry, I don't care where you work or what you do I think that's really inappropriate! Kind of funny though, lol! I have had team exercises like this, I get sappy after them too :)

Cute outfit! I am loving the top and the buttons in the back :)

  12. Awesome - mystery gift! That happened to me one, a Clairsonic Mia showed up at my doorstep, addressed to me and everything. It creeped me out. Who knew my address?? Two weeks later, I got an email from Lucky magazine saying that I had won it. Not so strange after all, but why they don't email before mailing it is beyond me. Anyway, cute mystery score on the necklace! And that top is awesome - I love the unexpected back!

  13. Haha that is definitely TMI for a work thing but if she feels safe around her coworkers to share that then good for her.
    Such a cool mystery gift!

  15. REAALLY? They said that!!!!??? How open! I have always wanted to sing the first verse solo from Once in royal David's city at a church service on Christmas eve! And I always wanted to play Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and Christine Daae in Phantom of the opera! In my orchestra rehearsal on Tuesday the conductor said something really really inappropriate and personal to me in the middle of the rehearsal and I was gob-smackingly embarassed- it sounds like this situation!
That necklace is so so pretty Megan!

  16. Lovely outfit!
And whoa to that conversation! In a work setting I think I would spit my coffee out - at work aren't you supposed to stick to safe topics... life the weather? lol

  17. Whoah! I can't believe that lady said that at work (and that her coworkers were all casual about it. crazy!). Um, let's see...I've always wanted to run a marathon. I'm coming back from an injury, so it's been a slow process. Some day, some day!

Can you wear your shirt backwards too? Have a great day! :) Amanda

Secondly - I cannot believe that lady said that!! Like you said, fine if that's your thing but don't mention that at work. Wow. Just wow.

Something I've always wanted to do is open my own boutique with cute little trinkets and perfumes and handmade items. This will never happen, but I love dreaming about it :)

  24. I want to own a mini camper. Or an RV. It will happen. Just waiting for the right time and vehicle. Is it my imagination or are we alike in some ways? Anyway, Fab outfit, great shirt and nice ass. This does not mean that I want to sleep with you...no offense. Hahaha! Dawn suitcase vignettes xo

  25. Umm yeah... that is a bit much to share with your co worker, but hey whatever I guess! Camping in ever state in america, that would be awesome! I kind of want to see ever ball park in america and I been saying that sense I was 12. BUT one of my best friends now says that about her and her hubby and i feel like I look like a copy cat if I say it, even though I came up with it! So i need to find a new dream... normal thinking right?
