new loves and old friends: five finger discount

old friends
tunic~ vintage, two birds
new loves
shoes~ F21
leggings~ Target

i bought stole this tunic from two birds after it didn't sell at one of our pop-up sales, many moons ago. is it even possible to steal from yourself? probably not, but that is beside the point. i took it because i loved how kind of ugly-awesome it was (and yes, ugly-awesome is a technical term). and then, of course, i never ever wore it. until the other day when i realized that it made a perfect maternity top! of course i discover this is the last two weeks (or less! i hope!) of my pregnancy. oh well...i am sure i will find a way to make it work post-baby, too. after all, these colors are perfect for fall!

i hope you are all enjoying your week!

xoxo, nora bird

  1. i liked that tunic immediately. i guess i like ugly-awesome things. you paid for it the 1st time, so NO it isn't stealing. it's testing out the merchandise. if you try to sell it again, you can say why yes this lovely top can be used for pre- pregnancy wear, maternity wear, or post pregnancy wear.

  5. I love that saying, "five finger discount". Nora, I know I am obsessed with anthropologie but I swear this top could be an item sold in their catalog...so globally inspiring. I loved the photo of the doll and shoes on instagram...so cute the way you captured them. dawn suitcase vignettes xo

  6. That tunic is fantastic! I think it's great! It's a great maternity top, but hopefully it will work nice as a post-maternity top too and I hope the post-maternity is sooner rather than later!

  12. I like it too! I have quite a few ugly-awesome things, and when styled right, they just work (as you show so perfectly here). Looking forward to seeing this piece post-baby too... it looks comfortable, and I imagine you'll want that at some point ;)

  13. So fun that you found something new to wear in the last couple weeks of your pregnancy - I was so sick of all my maternity wear by the time I hit the end, but didn't want to buy anything new. Nice that it was already in your closet, stolen or not.;)

  16. You look absolutely gorgeous, as always! I'd never think that would look good if I saw it on a hanger, but it really looks wonderful.
