is it bad?: honesty

dress ~ H&M
booties ~ b. (a resale shop)
necklace ~ Clothes Mentor
earrings ~ F21

~ is it bad that last weekend my daughter told me that my butt looked big in a pair of pants i was contemplating buying? (didn't buy them)
~ is it bad that two days later, she then asked me if i had a baby in my belly? (i don't)
~ is it bad that i am kicking myself for teaching my kids to never lie?
~ is it bad that i rented the hunger games and ate popcorn for dinner?
~ is it bad that the dress above is really a swimsuit cover-up?
~ is it bad that i bought two new pairs of boots (see one pair above) even though i literally have a steamer trunk full of boots?
~ is it bad that i have a steamer trunk full of boots?
~ is it bad that i also have a huge armoire full of shoes?
~ is it bad that i was thinking about buying a new winter coat, put it back on the rack and then ran to snatch it back up as soon as someone else walked in the store? (i wasn't sure that i wanted it, but i didn't want anyone else to have it.)
~ is it bad that i bought a new winter coat that i didn't necessarily need?
~ is it bad that while i was shopping for these boots and coat, i couldn't carry everything i wanted, so i made my daughter hold the boots?
~ is it bad that she got bored of watching the boots, and walked away for a minute?
~ is it bad that in that minute, a woman (same woman i didn't want to buy the coat) tried on the boots?
~ is it bad that i made it known that my daughter was supposed to be watching the boots for me? (probably)
~ is it bad that i didn't really feel guilty about it because i got a brand new (to me) pair of vintage riding boots for $16?
~ is it bad that these are kid's shoes? (correct answer, yes it is bad.)

  1. LOL, I didn't think any of them were bad! I need to work on my submission to this, thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you, as well, for the kind and lovely comment on my blog; it was very much appreciated.

  2. those first three are so funny. kids are too honest. but you also can't trust them. and of course you need new boots each year, regardless of how many you have. :)

  5. I bet that woman really wanted those boots and was just waiting for your daughter to get bored and walk away so that should could swoop in and grab the boots. I don't think it was bad to protect the shoes you wanted.

  6. Is it bad that I want to run to Target to buy those heeled kids shoes because it means they're in MY size? :)

And I NEVER would've known that's a swimsuit coverup, it totally works as a dress!

  9. LOL You had me rolling with your list! I don't think that any of these things are "bad". My oldest son tells me that I look like a hippie or my dress is too short and stuff all the time. It's good to instill honesty in kids, as long as they are not cruel and have tact. My kids get tired of holding stuff for me too. It happens. I think this dress/cover up is really pretty AND the boots rock! In my opinion, you can never have too many shoes/boots. ;-)

I had to chuckle at those two because I considered eating popcorn for dinner and buying a swimsuit cover up this week and wearing it as a dress. So to answer your question "is it bad?", at least for those two...Maybe, but it makes me feel better! Hehe.

  16. I literally LOL'd at this list. Shopping is an adventure that includes marking your territory and staking your claim. The kid has gotta learn that!-lol

  17. This is a cute outfit despite the unnecessary booties and the dress really being a beach cover-up! So versatile! You look great, you don't have a big butt, and honest children are a good thing.

  18. I think I'm guilty of several of the behaviors you describe. Is it bad to buy stuff at a thrift store, launder and iron it, and sell it for $ on eBay?

  20. Heh, I giggled quite a bit reading through that!
I do like that you wore these tough boots with this dress, it takes a little sweetness out of the flower print up the side. (And I do like the collar necklace!)

  23. Its totally not bad this is a swimsuit cover up cuz lets face it, it makes an awesome dress! You look beautiful. I can relate to having (too many? Nah.) shoes!! And that is DEFINITELY wrong that those are kid shoes...what the hell?

  24. I've found that if I have to ask... I already know the answer, haha. Anyway, I can't answer all of your questions, but I wear pajamas as clothes a lot, so I'm non-plussed by the cover up.
