jim and i have been trying to figure out a name for this kid we are about to have and it has not been easy. and we don't have much longer to decide! i am not the type of person who can wait until he is born to pick a name. the thought of not naming him very soon causes me great anxiety! but boy names are hard! when we found out we were pregnant, we were certain we were going to have another girl. so certain, in fact, that i almost didn't believe the ultrasound tech when she pointed out his little boy parts. she had to be mistaken, right? we were ecstatic, of course, just surprised (and in a bit of shock). we had a girl name all picked out and ready to go...but no boy name. so, right away we started brainstorming...and we are still trying to figure it out. lists have been made. names have been suggested and rejected left and right. and it is really starting to stress me out! honestly, i blame my sisters and sister-in-law. among them they have had eight boys...and thus taken a lot of the great boy names out of the running for us. seriously, how could they? taking all the good names like that...how rude! (i kid, of course...kind of...). honestly, though, i have faith in jim and myself. we will figure something out in the next couple of weeks and our son will have a name before he is born! i hope...

ReplyDeleteYou are for reals the most adorable pregnant woman ever! I love this look!
ReplyDeleteAw man, I have baby names picked out but I am no way in hell ready for a kid yet. You are right though, Kyle and I agreed on a girl name right away and I remember that one, but the boy name...I know we had one but I can't remember it, lol.
aw you are ADORABLE!! my friend is having a boy and is having the hardest time naming her son, too... it will come! don't stress :) :) it'll be the perfect name!

I have no experience in naming a child, but I know you will make an awesome choice. Good luck! And your outfit is super cute. I love the pattern on that dress!
ReplyDeleteBoy names are so hard! I am sure you will find the right one!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The pattern on the dress is so cute! And your necklaces and red shoes are so fun! Very festive for the 4th!
You look adorable in that dress! I might be wrong but does it have a strawberry print on it? I've only had to name my puppy which I'm sure is MUCH easier than naming a child! I know you'll find the the right name for your son :)

Love this look!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can imagine how hard it is to pick a boy's name, I can't come up with good boy names either. Very curious to hear your list!

Oh, I always thought boys' names were the hardest! It's hard to come up with something a little different but not weird for a boy. I feel like you can be more creative with girls' names. But I'm sure you'll come up with the perfect one soon!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love that necklace!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and showing some love, Have a beautiful day!!!

LOL aw the naming is the funnest part! My ex had tried to convince me for months in my pregnancy with my second son that he wanted to name him Fig. Fig? No. Needless to say, it took a while . . .
ReplyDeleteI love your cute dress!
What a wonderful dither to be in. Can't wait to hear what you decide...
ReplyDeleteBoys names are really dificult....me and my fiance have 3 girls names to the kids...but if we have a boy we don't have any name!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous!

Thats too funny they stole all the good boy names! ;) I'm sure you two will come up with something that can rival them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect outfit; you look great! I'm sure you'll come up with the perfect name =)
ReplyDeleteI love how perfectly your necklace match the cute dress! My fave boy names are Jasper, Milo, Nico, Felix, Weston and Alber. Good luck, I'm sure you'll find one you love before he comes along!
ReplyDeleteTotally amazing tasselled necklace, can I steal it from you?!

Oooh, what a gorgeous outfit! Every detail is just perfect! Hmmm, I find boys names a nightmare too, but I love French names such as Jean, Pierre. I also like Gabriellus (Lithuanian!) What's wrong with me, why don't I like English names!??!?! Matthias is quite nice too (foreign!), Phillippe, Louis (French, french). I have a friend who called their son Rudyard (like Kipling) and it's really beautiful and suits him! Her brother (incidently called Merlin), named his son, Harlan! Any of those take your fancy?! I was to be called Tristan if I had been a boy!
ReplyDeleteP.s. Inspiration Monday- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! ;-)
Oh, but people called Simon are always really lovely! Never met a nasty Simon!
ReplyDeleteBoys names are so tough. I don't know what I'll do if we have another! Cant wait to hear what yall come up with!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the name! My HH and I had the perfect name for our future son picked out before we were even engaged, but then his cousin got all pregnant and took it! Not that we're planning on having kids right now, but I'm just saying I kind of feel your pain!
ReplyDelete--Vivienne
ps It was Luka- you can take it if you want, HH's cousin will probably never know!
Nora, are they strawberries on that dress? I love this color combo, so striking. How adorable are your shoes too? I guess James is out of the question? Is Jim a James? dawn suitcase vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteI would love to have your vintage necklace...the tassels made it look even more appealing.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the baby boy name part. I am sure you will find a great name soon. :) I am excited to "meet" the baby already. Hee hee.
What a cute outfit... you look so amazing!! I'm sure the right name will come to you, don't stress it!

You look so pretty! Your haircut is stunning btw. This might sound cliche- but the Bible seems to give lots of moms inspiration on names. No worries- I'm sure you're going to name him something great. It'll come to you. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in that cute dress! Naming a newborn can be hard esp since you haven't even met the little guy yet. but i'm sure you think of something when he comes along.
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing. I had my list whittled down to Forrest, Finn, Asher, or Henry. I was told I was having a girl and a few days later had a list of 78 names. Ugh. I went into labor with three names but when I saw her, I knew she was my Rowan. (Which is, incidentally, also a favorite boy name of mine. I didn't come across it until I searched for girl names, but she very well could have been named Rowan if she's been a he!) Though I doubt our name tastes intersect (it's just so personal, after all), feel free to any and all names you see here. X) Oh, Nameberry.com was my favorite site.
ReplyDeleteYour legs are a mile long even in flats! Perhaps we all suggested some really awful boy names, the right name would suddenly pop to mind! How about Poindexter or Fitzgerald or Seamus.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is lovely! (Great outfit too :)
ReplyDeletethat look is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOk, does that dress have strawberries on it?! I want it!! You look so stinkin' cute in it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the name! I can't imagine how hard that must be, and I am the same way - I want to have a name picked out before my son/daughter is born. You guys will think of something perfect soon enough :)
Um I love your tassle necklace! Love love love! I think I would be the same way in trying to decide on a name. And I am 99% sure Matt and I would NOT agree as any name I have ever mentioned liking he does not like. Good thing we aren't in that situation yet! :)

My husband and I had the same problem. Positive we were having a girl with a name ready to go and in shock when we found out it was a boy. He'll be here in the next couple of weeks and we FINALLY agreed on Weston for the name...you're welcome to steal it ;) Good luck with your new little one!
ReplyDeleteseriously, boy names are SOOOOO hard! my hub and i couldn't agree on anything. so finally we settled on one. YES, just one! girl names are waaaaayyyyy easier (or maybe harder because you can come up with a few you like then have to narrown them down?). but you guys WILL come up with the best name :)
ReplyDeletelove that dress! so cute. and the necklace and shoes are perfection!!!
