i woke up on saturday morning and the humidity had finally dissipated. i was so excited and decided that instead of the elliptical workout that i had been doing all week due to the incredibly hot weather, i would actually work out outside. so i grabbed my bike and started heading to the lake for a nice ride.

i was about a half a block from home when i noticed a squirrel about five feet away from me in the street. i was biking at a pretty good pace already, and thought to myself that a squirrel wouldn't be so stupid as to run in front of a moving bicycle. of course i was wrong. the squirrel ran right at me, got caught in the spoke of  my bike, ran up my leg and back flipped off me and back into the street. luckily he was no worse for the wear and ran away quickly. me, not so much. i was a little shaken and my bike ride was over. i rode the half a block home, washed my legs and worked out on the elliptical.

happy monday! may the squirrels stay out of your bike spokes this week!
xo,
two birds

  3. You girls did such a great job on these outfits. I love the bright colored tops that you picked out. My outfit was a bit plain, as I didn't have any orange tops. You both look great!

  8. Good grief! You should write short stories for readers digest or something. This made me anxious, scared, nervous, excited and giggly at the same time lol

Love both outfits as usual. Love your necklace and top Megan. Need your shoes and scarf in my life Nora :)

  12. Aaaack! Horrible! I've been terrified of squirrels for YEARS after my mother in law told me this story about her friend who was out taking a walk when a squirrel jumped on her HEAD, then panicked, couldn't get off, and bloodied her head before being able to get off her. Your story is worse! My phobia just got validated. Thank you. Now I can tell my HH this story- he loves to tease me about squirrels, but it's serious!

  17. Only you Megan. I can't believe it! Never a dull moment. They are unpredictable little buggers. You could have been really hurt. Anyway, I love your outfit. Really love it. I hope this is a daybird outfit too. I love the color combo, necklace and jeans look great on you. Sometimes the simplest outfits really work great don't they? Nora, this psychadelic shirt is awesome. Love the print and colors. Your hair is getting longer and it looks so full and pretty. Have a great day! Thanks for hosting.

  23. Oh my goodness, that's terrible. I'm always so scared when I'm riding that I'll run over a cat or a squirrel because they don't seem to have a fear of bikes like they do cars. And now that I know it happened to you, I'm totally freaking out!
