love*birds 5.30.12

things i am loving this week:
~ coffee. i need to cough it up and buy a new coffee maker. i want a good one. a really good one. you figure coffee at a coffee shop is at least $3 a pop, so we can spend $150 on a coffee maker and not feel too bad about it, right? suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated!
~ short work weeks. feels like a tuesday, but it's really a wednesday!
~ camping season. we have our first tentative trip planned for next week!!!
~ wedding planning. i have been planning a wedding in my head (and via pinterest) for a while now. but now i actually am planning it. really planning it!
~ june 22, 2013. like i said, we are really planning it!!!

and here are some other things we are loving this week.

megan bird
stripe spot tea dress
stripes, polka dots, pops of red, full skirt, and pockets. i think i just described the perfect dress!

vintage floral dress
another beautiful dress. floral and belted, two other descriptions for a perfect dress!

colorblock tasseled platform wedge
i love any shoe with a tassel. and a platform cork wedge? even better. and to top it off, everything at gojane is 25% off! done!

peter pan collar necklace
how cute is this? a peter pan collar plus a bow? bonus!

i love you (yeah yeah) print
can i get chris an engagement gift? i say yes, and this is going to be it. i absolutely love everything about this!

~ insta*love: my fave instagram photo of the week (follow megan here and nora here)
big kids/little stroller
remember when i told you that we walked the kids home late at night, in the rain, in a stroller that they outgrew about a year ago? well, here they are in all their glory.

~ blog*love: i love how vang wore her pencil skirt in this post. it's the look i love...casual and chic and effortless. anytime you can dress up a t-shirt or dress down a skirt, i am impressed!

nora bird

does this not look like the most comfy dress ever? and navy stripes to top it off. in love. i want to wear this all summer.

i adore this succulent wreath idea! what a cool way to dress up your front door or a wall of your home during the warmer months!

how cute is this? i love the apple print and the peter pan collar! and did megan mention the 25% off?

i love these bright, lemon colored greeting cards. so fun! how great would it be to get one of these in the mail, just because?

my husband doesn't like to be told what gifts to buy for me, so i should really stop posting things on here that i think he should get me. but really, this would make a great push present, no? love it!

~insta*love: my fave instagram photo of the week

seriously, how cute are eva bird and mimi bird? so cute. especially bundled up like little burritos at their big cousin emma's softball game last night.

~ blog*love: if you don't watch the bachelor or the bachelorette you can skip right over this one. it is a guilty pleasure of mine, although the latest season has been so boring. emily is the worst bachelorette ever. seriously, i am about to give up on this season entirely. but it is worth it to watch just so that i can read jen frase's recaps every tuesday. (please be warned...she uses very filthy language, so if that kind of thing offends you, don't click on the link).

what are you loving this week?

xoxo, two birds

  4. I have two different suggestions for a coffee maker: 1. Keurig. I love it and don't know how I lived without it. 2. French Press. An actual french press is only about $25.00 and gives you the best coffee ever. It is relatively quick and easy and I promise you won't ever look back at a regular coffee maker again. Unless its a Keurig :)

  7. AHH! Wedding planning is so much fun!

AS far as a coffee maker the Keurig is an amazing product. Do they make the ultimate best type of coffee on the market? No. BUT the cups come out pretty decent and Starbucks and Dunkin (not sure if Dunkin is big where you live but in New England we live off of it) all have Kay cups... and whats really nice you can get other stuff in kay cups such as ice tea, and you just brew it over ice, lattes ect. What I did was sign up for the Bed Bath and Beyond coupons and when you do you get a coupon for 20% off and it CAN be applied! how amazing is that...

  13. I love the succulent wreath, isn't it just such a beautiful presentation? I wonder what would happen to them after a while, do they dry up? Love the maxi dress, maybe we can do an Inspiration Monday with that one day! :)

  14. 1. French press. It does take ten minutes, which includes boiling water, grinding beans, brewing, a quick stir, and the push. Then there's cleaning up. But it's AWESOME coffee.
    2. I want that striped maxi dress!
    3. Congrats on a date!
    4. I have to disagree about Emily being the worst! She's WAY more interesting than Allie or Ashley were! And considering the usual pace of the show, she's getting things done! But why hasn't mushroom farmer guy gotten to speak yet?

  15. Eva and Mimi are adorable, and I love those wedges.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh, those wedges are divine.

I prefer a French Press for making coffee. Takes a little effort but the result is worth it. The presses are not expensive.
