yesterday was a tough day. mimi turns two in less than three weeks and, lately, she has really been taking the "terrible two" idea pretty seriously. she tested me especially hard yesterday...to the point of tears (mine) and sending an email to megan and jim asking if i was a bad mom. turns out that i am not and that this is totally normal. phew! but it is definitely hard to deal with this tiny, very strong-willed little individual, testing me at every turn. but i have faith that we will figure it out and make it through this tough stage. if anyone has any advice, anything at all, i am all ears! last night i told jim that i didn't think that i wanted to be pregnant when our son goes through this stage because i could definitely use some wine! a nice big glass of wine would have been very nice last night!
okay, enough about that. onto the remix. megan chose the item this week, a cute and comfy dress/tunic from H&M. i do like the dress...i'm just not sure i love it on me. but that is pretty much par for the course with every remix (and really, just all clothes) lately. getting dressed is hard right now. if i could live in comfy pants and a tank for the rest of this pregnancy i would be a happy lady, but i am not going to do that. for you and everyone else that has to see me on a daily basis, i will continue to get dressed. most of the time...
outfit one: colorful denim
jacket~ vintage Levis, thrifted
earrings~ H&M
jeans~ Target
shoes~ Steve Madden
outfit two: hot heels

we hope you have a fabulous tuesday!
xoxo, two birds

both look beautiful! wishing you a great day! ps wine always makes things better LOL xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough place to be Nora. You want your kids to have everything and enjoy themselves, but you don't want spoiled unappreciative kids either. You are a great mom from what I can see and read. Your little doll mimi looks so happy in every photo. You an Megan are wonderful parents, it shows in everything. Megan I am dying over your shoes right now. I can't believe that your polish matches the green piping along the shoe...gorgeous shoes, legs, dress. Nora, I love the color and fit of your skinnies, your legs look a mile long and that hair keeps getting more gorgeous with the lift in the back. Great remix. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteAww Nora, you're a good mom! Kids are just tough at that age. I'm sure it will get better!
ReplyDeleteAnd you also look cute in the tunic with the colorful pants and super cute jean jacket! And your earrings are cute too!
Megan - those shoes are to die for! Very sassy look going with the silver belt too! I like it!
Nora, all I know is that you have looked adorable every single day, so it's hard for me to really get that you're having trouble getting dressed! A-dor-a-ble. Megan, those shoes are awesome, of course.

Always love these remixes! Those green skinny jeans are just wonderful. And I love the colored heels. You two always do such a wonderful job of adding color to your daily outfits. Makes me want to be a little more adventurous with my own!
ReplyDeletewowza, blue shoes! mmhmm!
ReplyDeletesorry you're going through it, nora! that is such a challenging time. wish i had a key to success to tell you...all i know for me and my kids is that every time (still) that I decide to PLAY with them and shake it up a little somehow, they respond and a bad day quickly turns around. distraction, surprise and bribery work very well at any age. :)
I like that tunic, and it looks awesome with that bright jeans. I'm not a Mom, so I don't have any advice, but I know two year olds can be tough.
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel your pain - I've got two 3 year olds, and they are still going through the terrible stage from time to time. Consistency is the only advice I have - no matter how easy it feels to give in. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteThose blue shoes - love.

I just found your blog and am glad I did. Those green pants are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI know for a FACT that it was not warm enough to be wearing that outfit Miss Megan. I really like those teal pants on your Nora! I was debating getting them when I was at target...
ReplyDeleteNora - from this perspective you look fantastic, but I know how challenging it can be when your body is changing so rapidly. And if we have a third child, we decided to wait few years now too. I was just SO tired and emotional from pregnancy when Arlie was in her terrible twos and it didn't make anything easier. :)
ReplyDeleteMegan - I'm just going to echo everyone else and say how pretty those shoes are! And I love that the your polish matches them!

Nora- I loveee this look. Are those Maternity colored pants? cause if so that would be awesome. You look great! and I am sorry you can not have a glass of wine! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteMegan- It looks great on you as a dress!! I love that belt.

What I like about this remix feature is that you prove that everything in my closet can be remixed, and be used to create outfits with a completely different look and feel.
ReplyDeleteNora - love the teal skinnies! :) And Mimi is lucky to have you. I have no advice, but I'm glad you have supportive family to back you up. :)
Megan - that belt and shoes take the dress to another level. :)
Oh, I can only remember that stage all too clearly:( So stressful and a struggle:(
ReplyDeleteLove both looks and the tunic!
Julie
hang in there with the kiddo...been there, done that...I hate to say this, but I think they will always test us...even when they grow up to be adults! Loving the remix!!
DeleteBecause Shanna Said So
hello...at first I was in doubt if you were expecting, but i looked through some of your prev posts, what a stylish mom in her pregnancy! Loved the Go Jane platforms!!
ReplyDeletehmmm, must be tough to deal with!! Love both the outfits. Great example of how to use the same blouse to make one casual and one very chic outfit!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with those green pants and those platforms!
ReplyDeleteAh so terrible twos is real- darn I was hoping it was a myth! How adorable are those green skinnies, the fab tunic and the bright platforms-youre both so gorgeous!
ReplyDeletein love with both of these outfits! what a great post. can i please have a pair of those green skinnies? i need them! xo
ReplyDeleteYou're doing better at dressing than you probably feel you are. In fact, it has been fascinating to watch because if I didn't already know you were expecting, I often wouldn't be able to tell.
ReplyDeleteThat 2 year old will outgrow this spell. My mantra as a young mother, "this too shall pass."
i think you should rename this the sexy birds post. both of you look stellar. sorry about mimi darling. just think of when she's 13. that's when i got real horrible. maybe she's getting it out of her system now? one can dream, eh? ;)
ReplyDeleteOh well Im brand new to your blog and I instantly fell in love with your honest writing. Ill have to go and read through your other posts now :) I am childless however so cant offer great advice but would I would say is take some you time! (If thats even possible) .. Even lock yourself in the bath for an hour (thats what would help me anyway). Love that outfit though, you look stylish and sexy which is very inspirational when you have that gorgeous pregnant bump!
