having grown up in a family of all girls, i was not quite prepared for all that comes with having a boy. the other day, i happened to walk by the open bathroom door when henry was using the facilities. and there he was, hands cupped around the back of his head, stretching last night's sleep out of his chest and arms, while peeing. and that's when it hit me. this is why i am cleaning the toilet and the three-foot radius around it every.single.day. because seven-year-old boys (and their dads, most likely) think they can pee with no hands. i'm all for multi-tasking...but there's a time and a place. any moms of boys out there know what i'm talking about?

You look lovely!! The skirt....va va voom!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I too clean my toilet more times than I care too. My little mister is 6!
Happy Day to you and your lovely sis!

Great outfit! I like the bright blue belt with that look!
ReplyDeleteI'm a mom of girls and I haven't experienced what you have. But, I have heard my mother friends of little boys say the same thing about cleaning the toilet, and one even taught her son to sit on the john to eliminate messes.

ROFL, that is rather funny. If we ever have kids I'm certain I'm doomed to have boys because no one in my husband's family ever has girls, so I'm sure I'll be dealing with this someday!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I love your shoes? They have TWO bows! TWO! They couldn't be more adorable!
That lace skirt is gorgeous, Megan! Luckily the only boy I live with is my hubby so I don't have toilet problems :)

I love this combo, that pop of blue is awesome! Also...eeew. I'm glad Husby does not do that (Or maybe he just cleans up after himself really well?).
ReplyDeleteoh my! is is ok that i'm laughing? dig the leopard, bow shoes, & black lace ensemble. just don't clean the toilet in it? ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of lovely color from your belt. Those shoes are just adorable with this outfit, i am obsessed with bows.
ReplyDeletePerhaps i should be happy that i dont have a boy. Gould hate to clean up after their mess....eww.
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving your kind comment :) I love exploring new blogs.
You look great! You must have an awesome shoe collection :)
ReplyDeleteThe pee thing: Yes they all do it. My son is 7 also and he is guilty!
Those shoes are ridiculously cute and I love the pop of aqua from the belt!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I don't have kids but the million little boys at my school who use the bathroom in my office are terrible! I practically have to go check it after every use or they just pee all over the seat and floor! And they never wash their hands until I demand they go back in and do it!
Ha! A friend of mine (who has all girls) just watched my (3 yr old) son today and said it had never occurred to her before what a different experience it is to have a little boy using your bathroom. I'm afraid she had to scrub her floor after he was done in there.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue with the animal print - it's one of my favorite combos!

oh wow...what a funny story! I only live with my husband and if/when the day comes to have a child (and we have a boy)...I can only imagine what that will be like!

Oh, I've actually been directly informed by someone of the male species that not only is it possible to pee without hands, it actually works quite well. Except for the fact that, you know, it doesn't. I've cleaned up my fair share of piss puddles underneath the toilet, which are apparently invisible to men.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you.
But you look so pretty doing it!
Hahah oh gosh I can't even imagine- I would think that hands would be critical! This is such a fab outfit, bows, lace and leopard, best combo in my books!
ReplyDeleteLove this look...love all of y'alls looks!
ReplyDeleteLove your shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love those bow shoes! Boys are silly, and they seem to stay that we even after they grow up.
ReplyDeletehaha, hilarious story about your boy! The past 2 boyfriends never washed their hands after peeing (ew!) so if I heard them leave the bathroom without running the faucet, I sent them back in to wash.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the turquoise & cheetah print! One of my favourite combos :)
Your belt is such a fun pop of color! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm a new follower:)

Megan you are to funny! I agree- I am doing the same thing. My living situation currently is a roommate and my boyfriend. Boyfriend cleans up when asked. Roomate does shit cept sits on the couch when I am doing a mass cleaning and watches me. Roommate has boyfriend over time to time and there is always mess on the toilet. I cleaned it the other day and now watching carefully to see who it is.
ReplyDeleteYour belt managed to change the look of the entire outfit:)
ReplyDeleteOh dear your little boy is hilarious!! Hahahaa! I grew up having only two brothers and I understand how you feel "Oi, you didn't pee right! WIPE IT OFF"!
