tuesday remix: sister style

this week we are venturing into 'leggings as pants' territory, which is a territory that i know all too well. i know many people are against wearing leggings as pants (there is even a facebook page devoted to it, with almost 400,000 fans)! i, however, will not be "liking" that page. i figure, as long as my ass is covered, leggings are fair game. they are cute and comfortable and, when you are pregnant, they always fit. and that to me is a huge deal. i am literally growing every day. something that fit yesterday may not fit tomorrow, except my leggings. i can always count on them. so, i will continue to wear them without shame. but i want to know, what are your thoughts on wearing leggings as pants? is it a do or a don't?

i have now typed the word "leggings" so much that it doesn't even seem like a real word anymore. i hate when that happens. so let's move on to this week's remix, which features (drum roll please)...you guessed it! leggings! as pants! i got this cute, patterned pair at F21 a while back and i haven't worn them as much as i had anticipated. but i really like the colors and the print and wanted to find a few cute ways to style them. so, of course, i threw them into the remix. let us know what you think!

outfit one: chambray all the way

headband~ F21
boots~ vintage, thrifted

outfit two: sweaters are sweeter

we hope you all have an amazing tuesday!

xoxo, two birds

  4. OMG I NEEEEEEEEEEEED those leggings in my life!!!!!!! I adore how you both styled them, in equally awesome ways! I LOVE the chambray top with them and the teal belt as a pop of color!

  5. Oh, I'm good with leggings as pants as long as everything's covered. But I've also spotted opaque tights worn as pants, and for me that's always going to be a fashion don't. Love the spring colors in that print!

  6. Oh these looks are so sweet! I need to get these! I think you both look adorble and a little sexy, but in a cute way. Whenever I wear leggings as pants, I look like a fruppy ass.

  7. The only leggings I have are black and stained with salsa, so they are definitely not outfit-appropriate... but if I had these adorable leggings I would rock them all the time! You both look adorable in these. There's really a facebook page devoted to that?! Haha, ridiculous.

  8. Super cute both of you. I dont know why people dislike them so much. I figure as long as they arent sheer(which would make the tights) and your rambosity (your bum) is covered, theyre fair game!

  9. I love the pattern on these!!! I say go ahead and wear leggings as pants - I've done it this winter more than I thought I would and like you said - if your booty is covered, I think you're ok! Nora, you are the cutest pregnant lady ever. I love the chambray shirt. Megan I love your boots and blue belt! Adorable, both of you!

  10. I feel the same way, as long as my butt is covered, I'm fine with it but it's still not a look I do very often. Those leggings are so cute though, I love the bright SW sweater kinda pattern!

  11. I agree with Future Lint, leggings are fine as long as the top covers the butt and crotch, as you both have done. What a great pattern on those!

  12. Love love love the leggings. I like the design a lot. Where did you get them?

  13. I like leggings, but to use them as pants I would have to have a long top on. I have a big booty, and I just think if it wasn't covered, that would be TMI for the whole world.

  15. I love both of these outfits, and I agree i will not be liking that page either. There was this girl I worked with once that always like to wear them as "work" pants. GASP also PJ bottoms as work pants. NEVER understood... and never will.

  16. I'm with the others, as long as the top goes past the bum, I don't have any problem with leggings as pants. And I love the pattern on the one you guys rocked!

  19. Ooh I love those legwarmers with the boots :)

  20. I'm team--'wear the leggings as long as the behind is covered.' I feel that way regardless, but especially since you're pregnant, and comfort is of the utmost importance. : )

  25. Haha I always type words to the point of no longer thinking they're part of the English language! I often wear leggings as pants- just so darn comfy! I love the pattern of these tights and with denim and elbow patched sweater (so cute!) it's an adorable ensemble!

  27. Your leggings are spectacular, as are your legs! Love that print and the belt! I wear leggings quite often, and also when I'm working out, cycling, or lounging at home.

  28. Comment Part 2...Both of you look so amazing, I am inspired to dig up my printed leggings and wear them with a belted sweater!

  29. As you have said: "as long as your ass is covered" I think that leggings are way to go. Yesterday I was in the supermarket with my friend and we saw somebody wearing leggings exposing shapes of her intimate front and back like literally. That was just way too wrong! I caught my friend staring at her with strange face and I asked "what?", he whispered "Didn't she forget something at home?". lol, he meant a skirt maybe or a longer blouse.

If girls will be wearing leggings as pants like you do, I am in full support.

I love both outfit in the pictures especially the "ikat" patterned leggings :)

  31. Although I don't really wear leggings (I don't really know why, I just haven't found any I like), I'm of the "as long as your butt is covered you're good" camp. So you keep rocking those leggings! If I had a pair as cute as yours, I'd rock them too!

  32. It is a brave brave lady that would tackle those pants/leggings. Kuddos to you both for making them look totally wearable!
