new loves and old friends: bright tights, not so bright ideas

old friends
blazer/necklace/belt~ vintage, thrifted

new loves
dress~ swapped
tights~ Target
boots~ Heartbreaker

this is my first attempt, and first fail, at trying to copy an outfit i saw on pinterest. i mean, i like this outfit. it is cute and all, but it looks absolutely nothing like the ensemble that inspired it. and i look nothing like the statuesque woman that was wearing it. i don't know why i am surprised. how would i, a 5'4", thirty-something, pregnant, normal person look the same in an outfit that a six-foot, 110 pound model in her twenties was wearing? i don't know if you have ever heard of or experienced pregnancy brain (or momnesia), but clearly i was suffering from some form of this when i decided to emulate a model. us short girls never win at that game. plus, my dress is wrinkly. meh. but at least it is friday and i am happy and healthy and have freshly made banana bread for breakfast! and now, if you will excuse me, i shall go stuff my face...

i hope you all have a fabulous friday and a wonderful weekend!

xoxo, nora bird

  4. Seriously? I think you look amazing! The colors are gorgeous and saturated, yet toned down nicely with the tan coat and brown leather belt. Your bump is just as cute as a bump can be, and the hemline of your dress is the perfect length--short enough to be chic, but not so short I'm wondering what might happen in the wind. And the necklace is a great accent.

As proof, I am pinning you RIGHT NOW!
