do you ever have those moments where you just hate most physical things about yourself? (and before you read this, please know that i am not fishing for compliments.) (although they won't be wasted on me, either.) i am having that week. it usually happens about once a month (go figure), and lasts a few days. this month, though, for some reason, it's lasted a bit longer. in that bit of time this week, i have bought new makeup, made an appointment to get my hair cut, rescheduled that appointment to be sooner, changed my clothes 16 times a day, gone thrifting, eaten a lot of cheddar and ale pretzels (you have to try these things), and maybe watched a lot of lethal weapon movies. all of these things were done to make me feel better. none really worked (maybe watching mel gibson pre-douchebagginess helped a little), but the hormones are starting to hit their peek, and maybe i'll be better by tuesday. in the meantime, i'm taking full advantage. perhaps i'll shop again (it's therapy, chris) and it wouldn't be uncommon for me to eat pizza and popcorn for dinner the next few nights.

there you have it, it's feel sorry for yourself monday. feel free to list some gripes in the comments below. i'm a great listener. and maybe i will send you a box of pretzels.

happy monday...here's looking to tuesday!
xoxo,
megan bird

  2. I like all your maxi dresses. you look fabulous with the leather jackets. Megan's dress has a nice slit in front and the drapes are so lovely. Not sure why but I only have one maxi which I hardly even wear. Is that nora talking? If you're speaking from a pregnant mommy's perspective, yes, I think it's the hormones acting up. But trust me, I can't tell a thing from the way you look. I wish I look that cute when I was pregnant.

  5. Ohhh I totally know what you mean, and clearly the only cure is eating and thrifting (and complaining, I do a lot of that too).

LOVE those shoes, Megan... I need to go to Kohls ASAP and try to find them (recent purchase?).

  6. I hate today. I ate too much all weekend and have not worked out since Thursday, Pinky is sick, and I dropped my iPhone in a glass of water on Saturday night, which forced em to drop $$$ on a new one.

I'm glad it's not just me.

Love the shoes! I *must* get myself some green nail polish.

  7. Oh yay, I'm also in that camp today! I'm glad I'm not alone as well! Basic in-law drama and Mr. Monkey not being in the greatest of moods led to a lovely weekend at our house - sigh. The difference is I can't use retail therapy until Easter. 21 days left...not that I'm counting. :)

But hey, you look you cute today, love your new dress! Nora, I love your dress too and I love that you both are rocking jackets, you look awesome!

Nora, talk about slipping into something springtime perfect, awesome blue color and stripes..both gorgeous. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo

  14. I cannot tell you how much I love each of your takes on an already amazeeeeeeeing outfit. I need more maxi dresses in my life, even if they tend to make my boobs look ginormous..

My gripe of the day is that the effing gym didn't feel the need to do any sort of temp control and I literally was sweaty from head to toe. Effing gross! I hope your week starts getting better pretty lady! Xo Lori

I DO understand what you are talking about, I definitely feel a bit blue about myself sometimes, more often than not, about my abilities as a teacher- I just feel useless at time! 18. Yes I know those days--for me it usually starts with a bad hair day or a tight-fitting pair of pants, then it all goes downhill from there! But you look fantastic--that dress and those shoes are way too gorgeous! And Nora, you look adorable too, I love the stripes!
