tuesday remix: sister style

i have been experimenting a lot with my hair (and some of the experiments have gone horribly wrong), hence the headbands and headscarves in the last few posts. i am not quite sure what i want to do with it next. i am definitely going to try and grow it out a bit, but growing out a pixie cut can be horrible and there are some stages that are just plain not cute (think "mullet"). i have decided that i am just going to go with it and do something new and funky. i am in an experimental mood lately and hopefully something will work out! and hopefully i can avoid rocking a mullet in the process. any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated!

for this week's remix i chose a shirt i acquired at a recent clothing swap. it is a cute, candy cane striped top, originally from H&M. when i saw it i knew it would be a fun and versatile top to wear this spring. i mainly chose it this week because i knew it would still fit both megan and i, but also because i got it a few weeks ago and still haven't worn it. i thought i would toss it into the remix and see what the birds could do with it. let us know what you think!

have a fabulous tuesday! it finally snowed here and, i must say, when i woke up and saw everything covered in white i was not all that excited. i was already in spring mode! i know, i know. what was i thinking? it is only february and i live in minnesota! in minnesota it can snow whenever it wants.

  1. LOVE both of these looks! That black/white striped blazer looks so cute layered over that top.

I love that you're experimenting with your hair. I am so boring when it comes to my hair - the most exciting thing I've ever done with it is cut it. I also happen to love headbands/headscarves... they are such a cute and fun accessory, so rock as many as you want while your hair is growing!

  2. I really like both of these looks, but that black and white blazer definitely steals the show today. Also, I think that your hair looks SUPER cute in these photos. Just have fun playing around with it, maybe you'll find that you end up enjoying this stage :)

  3. Diggin' Megan's sexxaay secretary look. Nora, love the mixed prints. Also, you should give the mullet a chance. When cut and styled properly it can be pretty fashion-forward.

  5. Looks good ladies! Nora - try some fun hair barrettes or bobby pins, they were a god send to me when I grew out my bangs a few years back.

  7. Great remix! Two very different uses for the same shirt. I wouldn't have thought to mix the striped blazer and striped shirt, but it looks fantastic!

Loving all the headbands and scarves. Maybe you can throw some fun hats into the mix too?

  11. It took me more than six months to grow out a pixie into a short bob. I did it by continuing to get the back near my neck trimmed every 4 or 5 weeks while the rest of it grew. Gotta fight the mullet!

  12. Victoria Beckham grew her pixie out pretty well. I was going to cut my hair that short and had a bunch of her photos saved so I'd have ideas for the grow-out, but unfortunately lost them when the computer crashed. :(

  14. the blouse looks wonderful in both ways you styled it but I think the first outfit is my fave. I am just really into bright colors right. Best of luck growing your hair out. That can be a real pain in the rear.

  25. Your hair is adorable, I really like the scarf in it. My room mate grew her hair out after having shaved it on a whim and she felt like there were some awkward stages but hair accessories really helped. She always had cute headbands, scarves, and pins to help her along the way.

I really like both looks. The top with the blazer is wonderful :]

  26. Megan, I just purchased that same blazer at TJ maxx because I saw it at F21 for 24 but got it for 19.99 instead. You and I have such similar taste, we bought the same dress in different colors. I swear, I wonder what other pieces we have that are the same. Both of you are experts in remixing. I had to do a double take while looking for the shirt on Megan. I feel ripped off in the leg department when I look at both of you. I am working hard to have slimmer legs...thanks to you. Gorgeous remix, really fun. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo I will be needing you for a guest post in March for (.)(.) job. I am hoping mine look just like my depiction.

  28. cute! Cute! I like the pin striped shirt, it's adorable! And I like how you remix it in two very different styles. Nora's outfit is so relaxed casual chic, the headband is nice... and meagan's outfit is work appropriate mixed with some quirky touch from the horizontal striped jacket.
