tuesday remix: sister style

yesterday, mimi and i were in line at the post office, waiting to mail some packages. one of the men in front of us was wearing a red stocking cap, a red sweatshirt and navy blue wind pants. he also had a white beard and a beer belly. i likely wouldn't have noticed any of this if it hadn't been for for mimi who suddenly, and with wide eyes, pointed at the man and exclaimed, "SANTA"! i looked in the direction she was pointing and immediately muffled my laughter before shushing her. the man either didn't notice or pretended not to...but, in megan's words, "he was kind of asking for it in that get-up. i mean, everyone knows santa wears wind pants in the off season".

for this week's remix, we chose a vintage cynthia rowly dress that was, for a short time, a piece in the two birds' collection...until i stole it. sorry, but it had to be mine. i love this dress. it has such a mod, 60s feel to it, which is one of my favorite eras in fashion (although it was not actually made in the 60s, since cynthia rowly, the brand, wasn't even established until 1988). it is just such a classic, gorgeous piece. i adore the scalloped neckline and the sweet, rhinestone buttons on the sleeves. actually, i just love everything about this dress, so it was really fun to remix it! i hope you think so, too!

  10. I like the idea of Santa, in his off-season, chillaxing in sweats and giving the reindeer a break by using the USPS.

That dress is lovely - I can see why you couldn't give it up!
