inspiration monday: frosty the snow(wo)man

the inspiration
eva longoria
i normally wear glasses to work and when i drive. on a special night out, when i need to see clearly, i wear contacts. the rest of the time, i wing it. i accidentally forgot to wear my glasses when i had to take the sight test for my license, and i passed anyways. so legally i can drive without my glasses...but i don't think that's a very good idea. i mean, as long as i don't need to read street signs, i am probably ok. but if i want to ward off squint wrinkles, i should probably wear my glasses more often.

so when i left work the other day and realized i had forgotten my glasses, it was no big deal. i had my contacts and another pair of (really ugly) old glasses at home that would make do for the weekend. i continued to walk towards my bus stop.
leggings ~ Kohls
socks, earrings, necklace ~ F21
tank ~ Target
coat ~ Gap, swap

but as i was walking (on one of the busiest corners of downtown minneapolis, mind you), i happened to look over and see what ended up being a woman in a white down parka. my very first thought at seeing her, sans glasses, was that she was a snowman. a snowman...alive and kicking...very rational thought, right? i think from now on, i will keep my glasses on.

sweater~ F21, swap

leggings~ Simply Vera, Kohls

happy monday!

  2. Very lovely! I like the peak of burgundy and checkered socks that breaks up the monotone. When I forget glasses I get accused of ignoring people when they walk in the distance, I can't see their faces, just a blur. Last DVM exam I passed the eye exam, but reeeeally had to squint, and I thought the same thing: gotta wear my glasses to avoid crows feet!

  4. Megan, your snow "woman" story is too funny. I had many moments like that when I still had glasses. I had lasik last year though and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself! I like the bright red sticking out of your boots, very fun!
Nora your socks are too much fun! I love those! And that is a cute ring too!

    1. I love the look, but haven't been brave enough to try it because I fear looking like I am in the cast of Cabaret and am wearing thigh-highs.

  20. Loving the touch or deep red in the first set. I am also not supposed to be driving without my glasses, I go back and forth and most times forget them except when I'm driving. I feel like they get in my way!! :) Lol @ the Snowman!

  21. Hahaha! That's pretty funny. I totally understand. I am blind as a bat and mistake things for other things sometimes. Loving the sock party going on here!

  22. Hahaha! I have to wear glasses to drive too! One of my eyes is near sighted and the other far sighted...apparently that will serve me well in my old age (according to the optometrist).
I love your socks!! So cute :)

  36. Ahh! My most recent nightmare: a real, live Frosty. Since Christmas my 22month old has been OBSESSED with "Fosty NoMon" and I have sung that song and seen that movie no less than 500 times each! Thankfully even if I forget my contacts/glasses, that won't happen to me since we are still having 60s temps lately.
I LOVE both pairs of socks you guys have! I love that Nora had hers for forever and that now I'm inspired to hit up F21 thanks to Megan.
I really love this look with a pop of color more than Eva's or mine. Thanks ladies:)
