FBFF- spring trends!

hey all! happy friday to you! i am so very excited for this weekend. we have no plans (crazy!) and the weather is supposed to be warm and spring-like (they're saying temps in the 70s on sunday!!!). finally! so it is perfect that today's FBFF topic is which five spring trends we are most looking forward to wearing! for megan and i, it was hard to narrow it down to five (there are so many fabulous trends right now!), but we did it (sort of). to read what trends some other great bloggers are looking forward to, or to join FBFF, head over to Modly Chic!

1. we are super excited that the 70s are back! i am particularly excited about sporting some high-waisted bell bottom jeans. i am still on the lookout for the perfect pair. while i'm playing flower child, megan will be going more "saturday night fever" and rocking some fabulous jumpsuits and 70s style disco dresses. let me tell you, people. she looks great in a jumpsuit!

2. we love bright bold colors and really enjoy experimenting with pairing them. so, of course, we are excited for color blocking! we are extremely excited to start working in some great citrus colors, which are especially hot this spring!

3. another thing we love experimenting with is mixing prints. lucky for us, that is another hot trend for spring! we are especially eager to start working some fabulous floral prints into our wardrobes!

4. i am loving the look of preppy accessories for spring. with all of the colorful, quirky and fun outfits we'll be wearing, why not pull it all back down to earth with some classic, sharp accessories?

5. we're so happy that midi-length skirts are in for spring. megan and i both have so many great vintage skirts that we are really looking forward to wearing all spring and summer. but this in no way means we will be packing up our minis!

tell us! what spring trends are you looking forward to rocking???

  3. Pattern mixing is such a scary idea for me! I wish my 10 year old self would talk to me about it because she was all about flowy floral pants with EVERYTHING. I really like the blog academichic, 1) because they are adorable and 2) because they have a pattern mixing tag!

Also hello! This is the first time I've commented on your blog!

  5. Great list - I always love seeing what you two have to say on FBFF. Wide legs didn't make my list, but I am excited about them. I just got a pair from the Gap and I am excited to try them out.

  6. I shared three of the five with you (70's wide leg pants, bright colors and midis), so of course, I think your picks are excellent! And that last Marc by Marc Jacobs dress? ((SWOON))

  7. Gorgeous choices! I found a pair of high-waisted flare jeans I was absolutely loving by Gap via another blogger, but they've since sold out. Never the luck!

  8. I'm totally with you on the 70's! Love those styles! Mixing prints? Definitely enjoying that but forgot to list it. Color blocking is easy and fun. Looking for forward to midi amd maxi skirts, too! Thanks for leaving such nice comments on my blog. Got to say again, the Monday Inspirations are going to be a blast. Loved last week and looking forward to Monday.

  9. I've been trying (like a mad woman) to thrift the last look since December. No luck yet. Found one shabby lookin' striped tee with the same colors, but shabby secondhand quality doesn't work for me. Great post. I love the 70's!

  11. Definitely can't wait to rock the wide leg pants. I think that has been on everyone's list thus far. So thankful that there's something to wear other than skinnies!
