i love yellow. it's springy and feminine and such a lovely color. i love it on walls, on linens, on other people...not on me. but when i was thrifting last weekend, i found this cute little jacket for $.99. i couldn't help myself. i decided to step out of my comfort zone.
does anyone know the book "color me beautiful"? my mom read it in the 80s and she still religiously follows it – she's an autumn, i'm a winter. i believe autumns are meant to wear this color yellow, not winters. i am more suited towards blues and reds. it wasn't until about a year ago that we forced our mom to wear black and she realized that she, in fact, looks beautiful in black! so suck it, color me beautiful, we are all rebelling!
i digress. i stepped out of my comfort zone and bought the yellow jacket. and. i. love. it.
are there any colors that you wish you could wear, but never do?

ReplyDeleteYellow's my favorite color, so I love this look! I'm pretty open to wearing any color, but I know I look terrible in gray--especially lighter heather gray. I still wear it occasionally, though.

I LOVE yellow! This color is gorge and I totally think it looks great on you!! There aren't really any colors I avoid. Sometimes pale shades wash me out, but if I fall in love with a pale colored top, I just make sure I pair it with a brighter scarf, cardi or necklace! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! OXO Nat

ReplyDeleteyellow. i wish could wear yellow. but i can't, especially not near my face as it makes me look ill. i love yellow, as you say it is a springy colour and i think it is a colour that 'smiles'.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I LOVE this on you!! It's beautiful. I seem to buy a lot of neutrals, esp. in coats, etc. thinking that will be more practical and I'll get more wear out of them but what really happens is it gets too boring! Good for you for getting some color! :)

I've heard of that book. I randomly had a lady tell me how these colors washed me out...at the store! She told me I should wear bright colors! lol and that pastels wash me out!
