inspiration monday

i am doing a very simple, yet super cute inspiration picture today. i chose this outfit for a few reasons. one, i want spring to come. have i mentioned that before? seriously, i am so excited for spring! warm weather, sandals, bare legs and arms. ok, maybe the world isn't ready for the sheer whiteness that are my legs. but you will get them today...apologies! the main reason, though, that i chose this inspiration is because i wanted to show off my lovely new skirt. it was one of the many wonderful birthday presents i got from my sisters. and. i. love. it. so without further is the inspiration...
lauren conrad. i have never seen her on tv, but i do love how she dresses. she's always simply dressed, but also very elegant; and she pretty much always looks carefree and beautiful. i love this look. is it a skirt? is it a dress? whatever it is, it sure looks cute!

and here's my take...
did i mention my white legs? i am kind of getting used to them after 37 years together. maybe hollywood will unite and decide that super pale is the new tan! regardless of the legs, i love this outfit. i plan on wearing it numerous times over the summer. it's a perfect garage saling outfit. ahhh, garage saling. seriously, hurry up spring!
have a great monday, all!

  1. I can't wait to wear summer clothes like that.

  2. Great outfit - the skirt is lovely. I'm with you on the pale legs... I think it's time they had a turn at the top of the style charts.
I can' wait for warmer weather and sandals...

  3. Adorable! I too like the simple & carefree style.

I really like the look of un-tanned skin. (Maybe partly because had I not tanned in my younger days I wouldn't have any sun spots now.)

  4. You know, there has been a major shift in the popular skin tone. Just look at Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johansson, Amanda Seyfried, etc. Personally, as a pale skinned princess, I'm loving it!

Here's a short article I found about it...

    Plus, you look great!
